The Greek letter delta is used in many scientific equations to represent change.
Through Delta, NCSA will continue its long tradition of advancing positive change in the use of computational and data-enabled methods that further human understanding of our world.
Specifically, the Delta project will work to advance the state of the practice in three key areas:
- the adoption and use of graphics processors for computational and data-enabled research
- the use of non-POSIX file systems for the vast majority of research applications
- the usability and accessibility of the researcher-facing interfaces on advanced computing and data resources
